Regular Meeting Minutes

October 8, 2007

 

Board President Anthony Alford called the Regular Meeting of the Terrebonne Levee & Conservation District to order at 6:00 o’clock P.M. at the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government’s 7th Floor Conference Room located at 8026 Main Street, Houma, Louisiana.

 

Commissioner Willis Henry led the opening prayer and Commissioner Sou Henry led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.

 

Upon roll call by Angela Rains, Commissioners recorded present were Mr. Alford, Mr. Daisy, Ms. Dillard, Mr. Leward Henry, Mr. Willis Henry, Mr. Moore, and Mr. Talbot, Ms. Teuton was recorded as entering the meeting at 6:01 p.m.  Mr. Luke was recorded as absent.

 

Motion of Commissioner Talbot, seconded by Commissioner Moore, motion carried, to accept and ratify the minutes of the Regular Committee Meeting dated September 17, 2007.

 

Motion of Commissioner Leward Henry, seconded by Commissioner Daisy, motion carried, to accept and ratify the minutes of the Finance Committee Meeting dated October 1, 2007.

 

Motion of Commissioner Talbot, seconded by Commissioner Leward Henry, motion carried, to accept and ratify the minutes of the Planning & Projects Committee Meeting dated October 1, 2007.

 

A motion was offered by Commissioner Talbot, seconded by Commissioner Sou Henry, to authorize the payment of the warrants, as presented.

 

Under Public, there was no one wishing to address the Board.

 

Under Engineering Updates, Mr. O’Neil Malbrough with Shaw Coastal, Inc. gave a presentation on the Houma Navigation Canal Interim Storm Surge Protection.

 

Under Executive Director’s Report, Mr. Zeringue briefed the board on the Morganza to the Gulf project.

 

Under President’s Report, Mr. Alford spoke about the financing of the HNC interim storm protection project that Neil presented to the Board at this meeting.

 

There being no further business to come before the Board, it was moved by Commissioner Daisy, seconded by Commissioner Moore, unanimously carried, to adjourn the October 8, 2007 Regular Meeting of the Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District at 6:54 o’clock P.M.
